*Methylcobalamin (MeCbl), is the activated form of vitamin B12 Vitamin B12. It provides neuronal (nerve) protection by promoting regeneration of injured nerves and antagonizing glutamate-induced neurotoxicity. There are studies that confirm it  has alleviated pain behaviors in diabetic neuropathy, low back pain and neuralgia.  Also studies were it improves nerve conduction, promoted the regeneration of injured nerves, and inhibited ectopic spontaneous discharges of injured primary sensory neurons. It plays a key role in normal functioning of the brain and nervous system and the formation of blood. Vitamin B12 is normally involved in several metabolisms such as DNA synthesis and regulation, fatty acid synthesis, and energy production. There are several other forms of B12, but compared to others Methylcobalamin is the most effective one in being uptaken by subcellular organelles of neurons. Therefore, Methylcobalamin may provide better results for nerve disorders through effective systemic or local delivery. Studies have shown an inverse relationship between vitamin B12 levels and triglyceride levels, meaning that lower B12 levels are associated with higher triglyceride levels. Also clinical evidence has proved that Methylcobalamin  has the capacity to inhibit the neuropathic pain ( hot, burning, cold, aching, or itching sensation with, at times, increased skin sensitivity) that may be associated with diabetic neuropathy.
