Health: Balancing Your Health Part X - Spiritual Fulfillment

Spiritual Fulfillment

How do you fulfill your spirit on an everyday basis? Prayer? Bible study or devotional? Music? Meditation?

If you are a believer do you get by with going to church once a week or are you working on developing a relationship with God every day? Do you have faith that encourages you to believe and speak the word and works of God to encourage and motivate others?

Do you live everyday in line with your belief and value system?

Do you lead by example with your faith in your everyday activities and interactions?

I knew God had a purpose for me to volunteer and help people within the church and community, but I always had an excuse as to why I was too busy or my plate was too full. I would do it later. Later can turn into years and you feel that something is missing.

During that time I attended church, volunteered randomly when convenient for me, worked on and attended bible study but there was always something missing. I realized that I was not making God's purpose for me in His church a priority. I would not feel complete or fulfilled unless I made volunteering a priority.

I have found that in adjusting my schedule to God's purpose has created more balance, more fulfillment, and less stress in my life. I enjoy the time I spend volunteering helping others. It ties into what I do in life with my career. It is amazing to see how changes based on your real priorities can help balance and positively affect other areas of your life.

I also make it a priority to do some sort of worship and Bible Devotional every day. This helps me build my spiritual relationship with God and model the behaviors for my children. I feel more at peace and in line with God's word. Hearing, seeing, and speaking His word everyday helps you stay in line with the path God has for you in life - stay connected to your purpose.

As a family we pray 95% of the time every night before bed. Sometimes life happens and we may not pray together as a family before bed, but we pray over meals while eating dinner as a family and have Bible study with the kids.

I also like to take a walk, run, or hike in nature to be with God and see all the beauty he has made. I find that nature helps me connect on a spiritual level as well as help me on an emotional level at the same time by decreasing stress, increasing peace, and feeling fulfillment/gratitude/and truly blessed!

What are some ways you build on and fulfill your Spiritual Growth to help balance your life?
