Health: Continuous Improvement vs. Delayed Perfection

We have covered a variety of health related topics and tips to help you stay the path to making several small choices that help you achieve a healthier lifestyle everyday. Eventually all these small choices will have a hugely positive impact on your overall health and well-being. The faster and more choices you make to choose healthier options, the faster you will start to see the positive impact on your health.

As we discussed before, it is always important to get regular check-ups with your provider to ensure health, wellness, and prevention as well!

Will you become frustrated and maybe fall off that healthy choice path???

YES

Can you recover from that and continue to follow that healthy path? YES

Is the healthy path easy???

It depends on your mindset. If your mindset is focused on all the positive benefits and how good you feel then yes, you will find it easier to make healthy choices. If your mindset is not all in and does not completely buy-in to the changes then it will be a bit more challenging. If your mindset is all talk with no action because you are not all in at all, then you will find it very challenging.

How can we continue to make healthy choices knowing that it may not be smooth or easy everyday?

Understand that life will and does happen. We will not make perfect choices as we are not and will not ever be perfect people. With that, understand the importance of striving to be the better version of yourself everyday. We may have made some mistakes in the past or this morning, but how can we learn from them and continue to grow. Remember that failures are not necessarily a negative thing. Failures are opportunities for growth and development if we choose to seize those opportunities.

Continuous Improvement is Better than Delayed Perfection!

What does that mean to you?

To me, that means that we know we will never be perfect. We are human beings. God made us in His perfection. We are perfect to Him, even with all our flaws. However, we will never be "perfect".

Let's not focus on what we cannot be. Let's be solution seekers and focus on what we can be. Let's continuously seek to continuous improvement in all areas of life through these small changes. These goals are realistic, obtainable, and we can continue to grow the goal or the dreams we are trying to reach.

We have the gift inside us already to reach the potential of what God has already placed in us. I promise you that potential is way more than you can ever imagine.

How can we continuously improve?

Some ways we have found helpful include:

- Pray for guidance, direction, plan, and motivation.

- Self-reflection on a regular basis. Do you like what you see or how you feel? How can you better yourself? Where are your strengths? What are some weaknesses you can work on? Are you being a blessing to others and in-line with God's path?

- Short-term Goals - where do you want to be or want to accomplish withing the next 6 months?

- Mid-term Goals - where do you want to be or want to accomplish within the next year or two?

- Long-term Goals - where do you want to be or want to accomplish within 5-10+ years?

- Review your goals on a regular basis. Write them down. Focus on them, crystallize them, and act on the plan to get there. Don't become frustrated with barriers, but become an excuse and barrier remover. Be flexible and change the plan BUT always reach for the goal through positive attitude, continued education, and forward actions.

-Hang around like minded people with the same values and positive mindset. Bring others up with you if they are coachable and open to it. Being a blessing to others can also positively impact you and result in further blessings to you and your family because you are in line with God's plan.

- Stay organized and keep a calendar or tracker to help you stay on track. Remember to reward yourself for accomplishments met - even if they came later than planned. You did it!!!

What are some ways that you like to continuously improve?
