Health: Infuse Health into Your Life

How can we infuse Health into our lives on a daily basis? How can we plan and think about all the changes we may need to make?

Well, first let's look at what infuse means.

The Term Infuse means to (according to the Dictionary):

1. introduce, as if by pouring; cause to penetrate; instill (usually followed by into)

The energetic new principal infused new life into the school.

2.to imbue or inspire (usually followed by with):The new coach infused the team with enthusiasm.

3.to steep or soak (leaves, bark, roots, etc.) in a liquid so as to extract the soluble properties or ingredients.

4.Obsolete. to pour in.

The reality remains that knowledge is power. The more you learn (from reputable and reliable sources) the more you know. The more you know, the better the decisions you will be able to make in all areas of life.

Examples:

Mental/Emotional:

I can choose to relax watching a soap opera or something on tv or radio that adds absolutely no value to my life other than wasting an hour or so filling my mind with junk I really don't need. OR I can choose to make a cup of tea or glass of water, turn on a personal development audio, read the Bible or devotional, listed to Christian music (worship), watch a documentary on how to do something or something that will give you knowledge that acts as "nutrition" for your mind and emotions.

Physical:

I can choose to say I am going to be active, but really put forth minimal effort expecting results. OR I can choose to schedule a game plan for activity to put forth maximum effort to achieve results. I can choose to park further away to walk or take the stairs instead of the elevator. I can choose to walk and put my cart in the cart return versus leaving it in the parking space I parked in.

Nutrition:

I can choose to fill my house with junk (food or drinks that have little nutritional value) OR I can fill my house with healthy foods that add nutrition and benefit me. I can still reward myself with having a healthier reward such as dark chocolate once a day or allowing yourself to have that cookie or cake every now and then. Enjoy what you eat, but make more regular healthier choices.

Spiritual:

I can say I am spiritual, but not feed my spirit depriving it if the nutrition it needs. OR I can feed my spirit with attending Church, becoming connected with volunteering or doing good deeds for others. Whatever your spiritual needs are - how are you fulfilling them? How are you growing?

These may seem like a lot of changes and the list can go on to include finances, relationships, parenting, etc. The key is to infuse change into your life as a lifestyle. In doing so we are creating healthy habits that become the new norm. We build our foundation to be more solid allowing for more growth. Eventually our foundation will become larger and larger because of all the knowledge, nutrition, and growth that has taken place through infusing health into our lifestyle. We will feel more comfortable blessing others with the knowledge and continuing to grow ourselves.

What are some ways you infuse health into your lifestyle?
