Self Realization

Self-realization is ultimately learning the answer to the foundational question, “Who am I?” It's deeper level of thinking than self awareness.

The answer of "Who am I?" lies from understanding that you are not your emotions or your thoughts. Who you really are is not even your body or your mind. It’s a deeper honest understanding of yourself. Self-realization gives you the ability to monitor your emotions rather than being controlled by your emotions. It helps you stay in the present, prevents getting lost in thought, prevents negative distractions, and prevent being overwhelmed with difficult emotions.

When you monitor you can use your observations during life experiences to learn how to effectively manage stress, anxiety, and fear…instead of rationalizing these emotions. Self-realization helps you do this by giving you the skill of letting go of debilitating feelings and taking hold of empowering ones.  When people don’t have a strong sense of their own self they get easily swayed to live life through the eyes and motives of the world. Practice self realization. It doesn’t happen overnight. Take the time and practice it to have more control of your life. That is the most important thing I can tell you. SEE for yourself, don’t believe a word. SEE for yourself. Don’t think, don’t believe… SEE. You have to have an open mind to SEE.

Who "you" are from your own point of view is not the same as what you look like to others. Therefore be cautious when seeking advice from others, especially if they don’t know themselves as well. Get curious about how you see yourself and how you interact with the world, and practice improving the things that you see as possibly debilitating your life journey. How do you define self realization in your life? How has it helped you navigate life in a positive way?
